It’s an exciting time for Prince Charles who is expecting the addition of a fourth grandchild to his family. The soon-to-be grandfather to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s firstborn is happy for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but he’s also very concerned about the future of the planet the new royal baby will inherit.
Worried for the Future
Charles aired his concerns about the environment during his recent visit to Ghana. The royal, who has been committed to conservation throughout his life, warned that the current pollution levels could be detrimental for future generations. He also announced that his son Harry is expecting his first child of with Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
During his speech, Charles admitted that he often worries for his grandchildren and the kind of future they have in store on this doomed planet. Humans are damaging Earth with pollution. According to him, the next generation may not be able to experience the nature and its beauty. Especially if we continue to destroy the environment, he said.
Charles stressed that everyone deserves a better future, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s unborn child. During his speech, the first-in-line to the throne emphasized on the need to reduce plastic waste and pollution. He said that the British monarchy is already working towards a pollution-free environment. They are working in reducing the amount of plastic that enters the oceans every year.
He added that the solution to the environmental problem is fairly simple. It can be achieved through collective effort of all the inhabitants of this planet. The marine species are already suffering because of our conscious actions. If we don’t change our reckless ways, they could soon become extinct.
