Meghan Markle is about to embark on her first international royal tour alongside husband, Prince Harry.
The newly married royal couple has partaken in several appearances and official visits ever since their wedding, but this will be the first time that the two with be journeying across the globe together.
Rubbing Noses with Danish Royals
Although Kensington Palace is yet to announce an official for the tour, it is widely speculated that they will be joined by another royal couple in Australia. No, it’s not William and Kate. Apparently, Princess Mary and Prince Frederik of Denmark will also be in Australia around the time.
Hello! Magazine recently reported that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will arrive in Australia around the same time that the Invictus Games are running. The couple will also be visiting countries around the continent including Fiji, New Zealand and Tonga. But they won’t have to do it alone.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have plenty of company on their trip, according to Hello!’s report. A Danish royal couple will also visit Australia around the same time. Princess Mary and Prince Frederik announced recently that they will be attending the Invictus Games which are to be held in Sydney in late October.
The Danish royal couple has very close ties to Australia. Not only was Mary born in the land Down Under, but she also met her future husband in Sydney while he was visiting in the year 2000 for the Summer Olympics.
Just like Meghan, Mary left her homeland to pursue her love story. She moved to Denmark to be with Frederik and the rest is history.
The Invictus Games
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will kick off the Commonwealth tour with Australia and New Zealand. But they’re also expected to visit other countries in the pacific region including Tonga and Fiji.
According to tour updates from the Kensington Palace, the royal couple has especially been invited by the Australian government to attend the Invictus Games, where they’ll rub noses with other famous couples including David and Victoria Beckham.
However, all eyes will be on Meghan Markle. The Duchess will be touring for the first time since joining the royal ranks.
The Beckhams will be joining the event as the ambassadors for the games. They will also be accompanied by their four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. Princess Mary will also be bringing her four children along. The Danish royals visited the continent in the summer last year as well for a family vacation.
