BREAKING – Singer Demi Lovato was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday after she overdosed on heroine, according to reports received by TMZ from law enforcement.
Lovato, 25, was found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home just before noon, Tuesday and was transported to an undisclosed medical facility quickly after a close family member called 911 to request an ambulance.
Although no one really knows about her current condition, the anonymous sources from law enforcement said that the drug overdose occurred at the singer’s home only weeks after she admitted in public that she had relapsed after six years of sobriety.
According to sources, Lovato received Narcan right before the medical attendants drove her to the hospital. The singer has been quite outspoken about her battle with addiction in the past. Only recently, she released her new album Sober in which she admitted that ‘she’s not sober anymore’. In one of the songs, Lovato apologizes to her family and fans for disappointing them and not being the role model they expect her to be.
Sober no more
Even after her very first performance in Portugal for her latest album Sober, she took to Twitter to thank her fans for always supporting her and giving her the new life she has today.
Just three days before the overdose incident, Lovato appeared at the California Mid-State Fair to perform Sober. Ironically, that was the last time fans saw her before her brush with death.
Last month, the singer released her first ever YouTube documentary Simply Complicated. She clearly admitted that she has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction since she was 17. That was the time she was gaining popularity from her Disney series Sonny With A Chance.
Lovato said that the first time she did coke was when she was with friends. They all insisted that she tried it at least once. It all went downhill from there and the singer has been struggling to keep her addiction under control ever since.
