Dissing the Awards

But probably the biggest shell shocker by far was when Ariana Grande announced that she won’t be attending the 2019 Grammy Awards over a disagreement with the show’s producer. Apparently, the two clashed over song choices for Grande’s performance for the night.

The show’s producer, Ken Ehrlich, released a statement saying that the organizers felt that Grande couldn’t pull off her performance because it was already too late.

The 7 Rings singer fired back by saying that she can even pull together a performance within 24 hours. But her issue with Ken wasn’t as much about the timing as her inability to be creative with her performance.

Of course, we were heart-broken to find out that Ariana won’t be rocking her iconic ponytail at the 2019 Grammy Awards. The singer decided to watch the event from home with her close friends and family.

At-Home Afterparty

But Grande’s decision to boycott the awards didn’t stop her from winning her first Grammy ever. The singer was named the Best Pop Vocalist for her chart-topping album, Sweetener. Grande won the award despite some tough competition from Taylor Swift, Camila Cabello, and Kelly Clarkson.

Grande had excitedly announced that she’d perform at the 2019 Grammy Awards. But the singer left her fans shocked when she pulled out of the non-televised show just days earlier. Reports say that Grande wanted to perform her latest chart-topping song 7 Rings.

But producer Ken thought that she should stick to older hits since it was already too late to pull together a completely new performance.

Even though we didn’t see the pop singer’s performance at the awards, we were still treated to a number of photos of the dress she was supposed to wear that night.

Grande posted pictures of herself rocking her Grammys outfit at home. In the caption, she thanked her designer Zac Posen for creating the magical gown for her. Even though she didn’t get to show it off on the red carpet.
